Na Jomtien, south of Jomtien Beach

Na Jomtien starts at the far south end of Jomtien Beach Road, about 4 km south of central Jomtien, and runs down the coast towards Bang Saray and Sattahip. It is the English name for Na Chom Thian, a town and tambon of Sattahip District in Chonburi. It is outside Pattaya City, even though on a map it reads as the southern edge of Pattaya.

Parts of the tambon come under Na Chom Thian Subdistrict Municipality and parts under Khao Chi Chan Subdistrict Municipality, so ask which office covers an address before you sign; it is where you deal with local paperwork. Addresses here use the Sattahip postcode, 20250.

The coast continues south from Jomtien Beach as Ban Amphur Beach, and further on are the North and South Na Jomtien beaches. The far end of Jomtien Beach Road leads into this coast, while Sukhumvit Road runs further inland through the whole tambon. That stretch of Sukhumvit is lined with seafood restaurants and coffee shops, so daily meals are rarely a problem.

Ocean Marina Yacht Club and Ambassador City Jomtien are both here, despite the Jomtien names. If you keep a boat or want a large resort complex nearby, Na Jomtien is the side of town to look at.

Public transport from Na Jomtien to Pattaya is thinner than from Jomtien. Plan on your own car or motorbike, or budget for taxis; if you are staying a few months, a monthly car rental in Pattaya often makes more sense than daily rides.

Because the area sits in Sattahip District, your address, postcode and district office differ from a Pattaya address. Ask for the full address with its postcode before you sign, because you will need it on forms, and remember that every landlord must report a foreign tenant to immigration on form TM30.
