Where is Wongamat?
Wong Amat Beach is about 1.3 km long and lies in Na Kluea subdistrict, in the north of Pattaya, in Bang Lamung District. It is beyond the northern end of Pattaya Bay, and you reach it from Naklua, not from Pattaya's Beach Road. Unlike Pattaya Beach, Wongamat has no beach road along the sand: no road separates the beachfront buildings from the beach.

The beach, its name and getting to the sand
The beach takes its name from Boonwong Amatayakul, whose Wong Amat Hotel was the first hotel on the sand; the site is now Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya. Who is Wongamat good for?
Wongamat suits people who want to swim and walk on a quieter beach, live high up with a sea view, and still be about a songthaew ride from the city. Together with Naklua, it is the calmer end of the city, with a quieter beach than Pattaya Beach. The north of town is close: Terminal 21 Pattaya and the Dolphin Roundabout are at the southern end of Naklua Road.
